About Christina

Hi! I’m so glad you’ve found us!

My name is Christina Neal and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor - Supervisor and the owner of Guiding Point Counseling. I have been providing counseling services to individuals, families, and couples since 2016.

I also know exactly what it feels like to be “stuck.” Stuck in a never-ending cycle of trying to prove my worth by being “perfect.” Stuck in a job that made me feel miserable and unfulfilled. Stuck in a relationship that wasn’t healthy or working anymore, no matter how much I tried. Feeling like I had no voice and no control over my own life.

I’ve been where you are. Exhausting doesn’t even begin to describe it. Overwhelming. Terrifying. I remember all of the thoughts that would race through my head: “What if I make the wrong choice and end up even worse than before? Why would I take such a risk? Maybe this is all I deserve.”

Maybe you’re saying those same things to yourself right now. Let’s work together to find and help you live in your truth.

I received both my bachelor’s in psychology and my master’s in counseling from The University of Texas at Tyler. I have worked as a therapist at an inpatient behavioral health hospital. I also have over four years experience at a Children’s Advocacy Center working with families who have been impacted by many different types of trauma. I started Guiding Point because I saw a need for more trauma-informed, relational-based therapists in our community. I am also proud to be an LPC-Supervisor and help train up new counselors who are passionate about helping others.

What I see over and over is that many of the negative thoughts we have on a daily basis, or the limits that hold us back from achieving our goals, are rooted in some sort of trauma and/or attachment issues.

If you’ve never been able to trust or rely on anyone else in your life, and you’ve had to manage the feelings of everyone else around you, it makes complete sense that you wouldn’t know how to trust yourself, use your voice, and live in your truth now.

That isn’t how it has to be anymore though. Send me an email or schedule a free consultation to talk more about what you’re going through and how I can help.

About Sarah

Hello!

My name is Sarah Allen and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (think med school residency), supervised by Cyndi Doyle LPC-S. I have been working with individuals, families, and couples since 2020, and started working here at Guiding Point Counseling earlier this year.

I welcome individuals from diverse backgrounds and political perspectives, with varying religious or spiritual beliefs, and all types of relationship dynamics. Whether you are navigating a demanding career, coping with traumatic experiences, or simply trying to “fake it till you make it,” I am here to support you.

I can relate to the the exhaustion of being in survival mode - fueled by caffeine, will power and sheer determination. Feeling overlooked or underappreciated, carrying the weight of past relationships, challenging childhoods, or a draining job.

If you are someone who has lost their passion, but continues to burn so others stay warm, I see you.

Sarah Allen, LPC Associate

I received both my bachelor’s in psychology and master’s in counseling from The University of Texas at

Tyler. I have worked at a local crisis center empowering clients after surviving single events or ongoing

traumas. I have also been privileged to work for a Denton-based therapy practice under the mentorship of Cyndi Doyle, LPC-S who specializes in mental health for LEOs and their families. Being a military and LEO spouse myself, this is an area that I am passionate about and really love working with. I also have experience in using equine assisted therapy to facilitate healing with adults and at-risk youth.

In therapy, I utilize a goal-oriented approach that is free of judgment, and full of dark humor and facial expressions that say more than I ever could out loud. I recognize and embrace my humanity and yours. None of us are perfect, but we’re all doing the best we can. I enjoy working with clients from all walks of life. My minor in grad school was Anthropology and I enjoy learning about people and cultures. I support the LBGTQ+ community, and I am knowledgeable and affirming of ENM/Kink lifestyles.

Making the decision to seek counseling is deeply personal and often difficult, especially when you’ve never been allowed the luxury of caring for yourself. It’s about acknowledging when support is needed, and taking steps to prioritize your mental and emotional well-being. Regardless of your current belief, you deserve the chance to thrive.

With empathy, openness, and authenticity, we can work together to navigate challenges and start walking the path you’ve wanted to be on all along. I know it’s not easy to believe, but you don’t have to do this alone anymore.
